Etala Rajender expressed concern that a portion of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project has sunk and stated that it is not appropriate to withhold water from pump houses. He urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to punish those responsible for irregularities in the project, rather than making the public suffer. Rajender made these remarks while participating in the birth anniversary celebrations of Syama Prasad Mukherjee at the BJP state office on Monday.
Speaking to the media, he acknowledged that subsidence in the Kaleshwaram project is a reality. However, he pointed out that due to the impact of El Niño, the state is witnessing a lack of rainfall even this month. In such a situation, he demanded that water be supplied to farmers from the available pump houses under the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation system. He emphasized the need to utilize existing resources to support agriculture during the dry spell.
