YSRCP president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy accused the coalition government of encouraging political conspiracies and misuse of power in the state. He made the remarks after visiting Alur MLA Virupakshi, who is lodged in Kurnool district jail at Panchalingala. Jagan alleged that the MLA’s arrest and imprisonment reflected what he described as the implementation of a “Red Book Constitution” in Andhra Pradesh. He also alleged that cases were being filed against victims and those supporting them.
Jagan further criticised the Chandrababu Naidu-led government, alleging political vendetta and misuse of official machinery. He claimed that during his visit to Kurnool jail, officials made him stand behind the prison grills for a photograph, allegedly saying they had received instructions from higher authorities. Jagan said such practices could set a dangerous precedent and alleged that the government was attempting to suppress those who questioned its actions.
