EC Serious Over Attack on BLOs

Following the intervention of the Telangana State Women's Commission, the State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has treated the attack on women Booth Level Officers (BLOs) engaged in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls as a matter of utmost urgency. Immediate directions have been issued to initiate an inquiry into the incident.

The CEO has instructed the GHMC Commissioner and District Election Officer (DEO), Hyderabad, along with the Telangana Director General of Police (DGP), to conduct a thorough investigation, take necessary action, and submit a detailed report. Telangana State Women's Commission Chairperson Gadwal Vijayalakshmi stated that the Commission will always stand by women employees and ensure their safety while discharging official duties.
