Telangana Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has questioned why YSR Congress Party chief and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy lost the 2024 Assembly elections despite implementing several welfare schemes. Speaking about election-related concerns, Komatireddy said allegations and doubts surrounding Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) needed attention. His remarks have triggered political discussion over the reasons behind Jagan’s electoral defeat.
Komatireddy also alleged that attempts were being made to delete the names of 73 lakh voters in Telangana during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. He stated that the Congress party would oppose such moves. While his comments have sparked debate, the allegations concerning EVMs do not, by themselves, establish that election manipulation occurred. The claims regarding voter deletions also require independent verification.
