Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has responded to the ongoing demand for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation. Speaking in a television interview, Kejriwal urged the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) to seek Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resignation instead of targeting the CEC. Kejriwal alleged that actions he attributes to Gyanesh Kumar were carried out at the direction of his “boss”. These are Kejriwal’s political allegations.
Referring to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), the Delhi election results and the upcoming Punjab elections, Kejriwal argued that opposition protests should not focus on individual officials one after another. His remarks came after the CJP announced plans for a nationwide protest beginning in Mumbai on October 2, demanding Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation. The CJP has maintained its demand and said it would continue its campaign over the SIR exercise and electoral issues.
