TTD Governing Council member Bhanu Prakash Reddy has strongly objected to the recent remarks made by Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar regarding Tirumala temple traditions. He said that seeking Nitya Harathi Darshan for ministers and MLAs is inappropriate, adding that the honour is a long-standing traditional privilege associated with the Maharaja of Mysore and should not be extended for political considerations.
Bhanu Prakash Reddy urged political leaders not to turn the sacred Tirumala temple into a political platform or use religious traditions to gain political support. He stated that granting such requests could lead to similar demands from leaders of other states and emphasized that TTD would not yield to political pressure. He also demanded that DK Shivakumar withdraw his remarks immediately and said the issue would be discussed at the upcoming Dharmika Parishad meeting.
