US President Donald Trump has claimed that his administration has achieved significant successes by controlling illegal immigration and bringing an end to eight ongoing conflicts across different countries. He made these remarks while addressing the nation at the close of the year.
Trump stated that the US economy is moving forward at a rapid pace due to the retaliatory tariffs imposed by his administration. He said the country was in a state of complete disorder around 11 months ago and that he assumed leadership during a difficult phase. According to him, his government has since worked to bring stability and order to the situation.
Reflecting on his tenure since taking office in January, Trump outlined what he described as his major achievements. These include deporting illegal immigrants, taking measures to control prices, reducing international disputes, generating hundreds of millions of dollars for the government through tariffs, and creating employment opportunities.
He said his administration had dealt firmly with people who entered the United States illegally from various countries, accusing them of taking away local jobs and contributing to rising housing costs. Trump also remarked that his favorite word is “tariff.”
As part of Christmas celebrations, Trump announced that US soldiers would receive bonus checks of $1,776 each. He said that around 1.45 million military personnel would receive this “Warrior Dividend,” and clarified that the funds for the bonuses were sourced from tariffs imposed on other countries.
However, Trump blamed former President Joe Biden for the current inflation in the country. While Trump claims to have strengthened the US economy, surveys indicate that public opinion remains divided.
Several reports suggest that many Americans believe prices began rising sharply and job opportunities declined after the introduction of higher tariffs.
