The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has strongly criticized remarks made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on saving petrol and diesel. The party alleged that India is not purchasing Russian oil due to pressure from the United States, and questioned the Centre’s responsibility in ensuring stable fuel supply.
The DMK further claimed that fuel prices may rise again and questioned the Prime Minister’s public outreach programs, including a roadshow in Somnath, while urging citizens to conserve fuel. The party said the government should focus on controlling fuel prices instead of making public appeals for conservation.
