DK Shivakumar has been unanimously elected as the Karnataka Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader. His name was proposed by former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and supported by all MLAs, marking a key political development in the state.
Shivakumar is expected to meet Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot shortly to formally stake claim for government formation and request an invitation to form the government. This move has paved the way for a new government in Karnataka.
He is set to take oath as the Chief Minister of Karnataka on June 3 at 4:05 PM. With the Congress high command’s decision, the process of leadership transition in the state is moving swiftly.
