DK Shivakumar Demands Action Against CEC

Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has demanded action against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar amid the ongoing controversy over the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Shivakumar called for Kumar’s arrest and removal from office, and questioned the functioning of the poll panel following reports of differences among the Election Commissioners.

Shivakumar also called for the voter-list revision process to be scrapped and conducted afresh, saying eligible voters should not lose their voting rights. The Election Commission, however, has said that differing views are part of normal internal deliberations and maintained that its orders have been approved unanimously by the full Commission.
