A major political crisis has unfolded in Venezuela. Following the capture of President Nicolás Maduro in a US military operation, the country's Supreme Court has ordered Vice President Delcy Rodriguez to assume the role of interim president. The court stated that this is to ensure administrative continuity and the defense of national sovereignty.
Delcy Rodríguez, a staunch loyalist to Maduro, adheres firmly to left-wing ideals and has strongly opposed US intervention.
