Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu has stated that he does not believe in promoting political inheritance and that the only legacy he is passing on to his children is the Swarna Bharat Trust. He was speaking at the Sankranti celebrations organised by the trust at Muchchintal.
Addressing the gathering, Naidu said he consciously kept his son and daughter away from politics, as he never supported dynastic politics. According to him, culture, traditions, and values are the real wealth he has given his children.
He emphasized that while times may change, India’s cultural roots should remain intact. With this vision, the Swarna Bharat Trust has been celebrating festivals every year to keep traditions alive.
Naidu also highlighted the close connection between Indian festivals and nature. He said Sankranti is celebrated when farmers bring home the harvest after months of hard work. However, he expressed concern over increasing climate changes.
Stressing the importance of environmental protection, he said a secure future is possible only if nature is preserved.
