Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath strongly reacted to demands made by some Muslim leaders to declare the cow as a national animal. He said that for followers of Sanatana Dharma, the cow is not just an animal but is regarded as equal to a mother. He emphasized the deep cultural and spiritual bond associated with the cow in Hindu tradition.
Yogi Adityanath stated that the relationship with the cow is eternal and sacred, comparing it to the reverence given to Goddess Ganga. He added that the cow is treated as a mother and referred to it as the “mother of the state,” saying there is no need for an official declaration to express such respect.
