Former Telangana minister and BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) has filed a discharge petition in the ACB special court in Nampally, seeking the removal of his name from the charge sheet in the Formula E race case. In his petition, KTR stated that he had not engaged in any corruption and argued that the allegations made by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) lacked sufficient prima facie evidence. He further contended that although 21 people had been questioned in connection with the case, no evidence of misappropriation of funds had been found. On these grounds, he requested the court to remove his name from the charge sheet.
After examining KTR’s discharge petition, the ACB special court directed the bureau’s officials to file a counter in response. The court adjourned the next hearing to the 30th of this month. Further proceedings are expected to continue after the ACB submits its response to the arguments raised in KTR’s petition.
