BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao said that continuing successful welfare schemes introduced by previous governments, regardless of changes in political leadership, is a key sign of good governance. During his visit to Veernapalli, Yellareddypet and Sircilla in Rajanna Sircilla district on Wednesday, KTR inaugurated a free eye-care camp at Veernapalli. He recalled that the BRS government had continued schemes such as Aarogyasri and fee reimbursement introduced during the Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy government. KTR criticised the Congress government for sidelining schemes such as Kanti Velugu and KCR Kit, allegedly because they carry KCR’s name. He said Kanti Velugu would be continued across Sircilla district.
KTR also visited the family of weaver Venkatesham, who recently died in Sircilla, and offered his condolences. He handed over a fixed-deposit bond of Rs 3 lakh in the name of the deceased’s daughter. KTR alleged that local Congress leaders had attempted to portray the death as a suicide for political gain, claiming that those arrested were only the immediate actors and that senior leaders were behind the incident. He urged the police to conduct the investigation without political pressure and ensure justice for Venkatesham’s family.
