Government Whip Vemula Veeresham criticised BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao during a press conference at the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) office. Taking a swipe at KTR’s appearance, Veeresham remarked that growing a beard like Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy would not help anyone come to power. He questioned the BRS leadership’s responsibility for the problems faced by Singareni and said the Congress government had announced a bonus for Singareni workers. He accused KTR of discussing other issues instead of acknowledging the government’s initiatives for the workers and described KTR’s visit to Singareni as a film promotion exercise.
Veeresham also made remarks about the relationship between KTR and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, alleging that the two were not on good terms. He said KTR refers to his father’s return to active politics, while KCR is reportedly unwilling to leave his farmhouse. Veeresham further questioned KTR’s criticism of the Congress government over the possibility of drought linked to El Niño. Citing the COVID-19 pandemic during the previous BRS government, he argued that the Congress had not blamed KCR for the outbreak and asked why the current government should be held responsible for a weather phenomenon. These remarks reflect the ongoing political exchange between the Congress and BRS leadership.
