

In the second phase of Gram Panchayat elections, Congress-backed candidates continued their winning streak, securing a clear majority of Sarpanch posts across the state. Out of 4,333 positions, Congress supporters won more than half, emerging dominant in 27 districts.
The opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi put up a tough fight but finished in second place, while independents stood third. BJP-backed candidates recorded their strongest performance in Nirmal district.
As per results declared till 12:30 am, Congress secured 2,297 seats (51.9%), BRS won 1,191 (27.5%), BJP claimed 257 (6.2%), and others bagged 578 seats (14.4%).
Voter participation remained high, with 85.86% polling recorded in the second phase, reflecting strong public enthusiasm despite cold weather conditions.
