BJP Telangana state president N. Ramachandra Rao launched a sharp attack on the Congress, alleging that the party was spreading propaganda against constitutional institutions out of fear of electoral defeat. He said the Congress had developed a habit of celebrating when it wins and blaming institutions when it loses. Rao also said the Congress should move away from the belief that the Prime Minister’s post belongs to one family. He further alleged that Rahul Gandhi and actor Prakash Raj were conspiring to undermine public confidence in constitutional institutions.
Rao said merely filing Form-7 would not automatically result in votes being deleted from the electoral rolls. He urged the Congress to stop what he described as false propaganda over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. He called for factual information to be communicated to the public instead of creating unnecessary apprehensions about the electoral-roll revision exercise.
