A Congress delegation led by Mahesh Kumar Goud met State Chief Electoral Officer Sudarshan Reddy and submitted a representation regarding the SIR process. The delegation urged election authorities to ensure that the voter verification process is conducted in a transparent and impartial manner. Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Rajya Sabha MP Anil Kumar Yadav, MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, Government Whip MLC Balmuri Venkat, MLAs, corporation chairpersons, and other senior Congress leaders attended the meeting.
Speaking to the media at BRK Bhavan after meeting the CEO, Mahesh Kumar Goud alleged that BJP MPs, including G Kishan Reddy, had won elections through bogus votes. He claimed that the SIR process implemented across 14 states and Union Territories resulted in the deletion of nearly 5.90 lakh votes and altered political equations. He accused the BJP government of attempting to remove secular votes and warned against similar practices in Telangana. He also urged Booth Level Officers to conduct thorough door-to-door verification and requested authorities to follow Supreme Court guidelines regarding overseas voters while ensuring that poor and minor voters do not face inconvenience.
