Congress Focuses on Two Graduate MLC Seats in Telangana

The Telangana Congress has intensified its exercise to finalise candidates for the two Graduate MLC constituencies scheduled to go to polls next year. The party has reportedly shortlisted three names each for the Warangal–Khammam–Nalgonda and Hyderabad–Rangareddy–Mahbubnagar constituencies and forwarded the lists to the party high command. Candidate selection is expected to take into account social representation and other organisational considerations.

The final decision on the candidates will be taken by the Congress high command. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka is reportedly coordinating the selection process for the Warangal–Khammam–Nalgonda seat, while Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha is handling the exercise for the Hyderabad–Rangareddy–Mahbubnagar constituency. The electoral-roll preparation process for the two Graduate MLC constituencies is scheduled to begin on September 28, with applications through Form-18 accepted until November 6 and the final rolls due on December 30.
