Congress Chairman Secures Post with BJP Support

Alibabad: The Medchal district Alibabad Municipal Chairman election was held in a highly competitive manner. Ultimately, the Congress party secured control, with Kantham Shireesh elected as the Chairperson. In this municipality, out of a total of 20 wards, Congress won 8 seats, BRS secured 7 seats, BJP won 3 seats and the remaining 2 seats went to other candidates. Since no party achieved a full majority, Congress leveraged the support of independent candidates and the BJP to clinch the Chairman’s post.
