Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has emerged as the largest party in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, but no party has secured a clear majority, resulting in a hung assembly. Party chief Vijay is scheduled to arrive at the party headquarters at 11 AM today and meet the newly elected MLAs to discuss the next steps in government formation.
TVK leaders and cadres are arriving from across Tamil Nadu. The party has reportedly requested the Governor to grant two weeks’ time to prove majority and is preparing for alliance talks. TVK won 108 seats, falling just 10 seats short of the 118-seat majority mark, while DMK secured 59 seats and AIADMK 47 seats. Smaller parties including Congress, Left parties, VCK, PMK, IUML, BJP, and others are expected to play a crucial role in forming the government.
