C. Joseph Vijay has resigned from his MLA position representing the Tiruchchi East constituency after recently taking charge as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief had secured victories from both Tiruchchi East and Perambur constituencies in the Assembly elections.
Following his resignation from Tiruchchi East, Vijay will continue as the MLA from one constituency while vacating the other seat as per electoral norms. The development is likely to pave the way for a by-election in Tiruchchi East in the coming months. The move has sparked fresh political discussions across Tamil Nadu soon after Vijay’s historic rise to power.
