Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay has taken swift disciplinary action against party functionary Veerasamy after a video allegedly showed him accepting ₹1.30 lakh from a contractor. The footage reportedly came to Vijay's attention, prompting immediate action against the party leader.

In an official statement, TVK announced that Veerasamy had been removed from the party's primary membership as well as all organisational responsibilities for allegedly acting in a manner that tarnished the party's image. The move has drawn attention on social media, with many describing it as a reflection of Vijay's commitment to his stated zero-tolerance approach towards corruption. However, the allegations and the video are yet to be adjudicated through the legal process.
