The meeting between Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and key leaders from Jagtial has concluded. Speaking on the occasion, he stated that the meeting was held to share the current situation in the state with the leaders. He clarified that they have never underestimated Jeevan Reddy and have never made any remarks that would diminish his dignity. The Chief Minister said that the party had worked extensively for his victory in the 2023 elections. Although he was advised to contest from Karimnagar in the Parliamentary elections, he requested to contest from Nizamabad, and the party allotted him the ticket. However, he unfortunately lost the election. He also mentioned that in the municipal elections, tickets were given based on Jeevan Reddy’s recommendations.
He further stated that even after assuring a political future for him and his family, he did not accept it. Eventually, with stubbornness, Jeevan Reddy left the party and aligned with KCR, leaving behind workers who had supported him for 40 years. The Chief Minister said it was painful to see a leader like Jeevan Reddy standing with folded hands before KCR. He alleged that Jeevan Reddy compromised the self-respect of Congress workers in Jagtial by placing it at KCR’s feet. He added that such actions do not suit his age and experience. He also stated that he has never spoken in a way that disrespects Jeevan Reddy. While they were working to counter conspiracies, he joined the opposing camp. He questioned whether stopping an attempt to topple a democratically elected government was wrong.
He said that whether his actions are right or wrong will be judged by the people, and that time will be the ultimate judge of everyone. He called upon party workers to stand strong and help bring Congress back to power. He urged them to remain courageous and assured that he would soon visit Jagtial to meet the workers. Finally, he appreciated everyone who proved that the party is more important than any individual.
