Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the agricultural situation in the Rayalaseema region, with a special focus on horticulture. The meeting, held at the AP Secretariat, was attended by Finance Minister Pyyavula Keshav and senior government officials.
The Chief Minister discussed horticulture development under the Central Government’s Purvodaya scheme, including subsidies, marketing support, and food processing facilities. He also reviewed the functioning of 92 horticulture clusters established in Rayalaseema and Prakasam districts.
With nearly 5.98 lakh horticulture farmers expected to benefit from the government’s upcoming plans, he directed officials to collect detailed information and conduct thorough analysis to improve outcomes.
He emphasised strengthening irrigation, transportation, water projects, panchayat roads, food processing industries, warehouses, and marketing systems to enhance farmers’ income.
The Chief Minister also instructed officials to prepare a long-term strategy for horticulture expansion, considering changing food habits, crop demand, and advancements in technology.
