Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke has gone viral after claiming that he fears being taken “straight to Tihar Jail” if he returns to India amid the explosive growth of the satirical online movement. Speaking during a recent interview, Dipke said he believes “a convoy of Delhi Police” could escort him from Delhi airport directly to jail, following the blocking of the party’s primary X account in India and the growing political attention surrounding the movement.
The meme-driven Cockroach Janta Party rapidly gained massive popularity across social media platforms over issues such as youth unemployment, exam controversies and governance concerns. Dipke, who is currently based in the United States, also alleged that the movement has faced hacking attempts and increasing pressure after going viral online. While supporters called his remarks a reflection of concerns over free speech and satire, critics dismissed them as social media theatrics. So far, no official arrest order or criminal case against Dipke has been publicly confirmed.
