The Telangana government has announced that its WhatsApp MeeSeva initiative has received an overwhelming response from the public. Through this digital platform, civic services have been delivered to 3.25 lakh citizens so far.
According to official data, around 4.5 lakh people have registered for WhatsApp MeeSeva, out of which 3.25 lakh users have already availed services. Citizens can access services 24×7 through the WhatsApp number 8096958096, officials said. At present, 581 services across more than ten government departments are available through this single number.
The government noted that the service is most frequently used for obtaining caste, income, birth, and death certificates. Applicants can also check MeeSeva application status and download certificates directly on WhatsApp. This has eliminated the need for repeated visits to MeeSeva centers, providing greater convenience to the public.
The WhatsApp MeeSeva services were officially launched on November 18, 2025, by the Telangana Minister for IT and Industries, D. Sridhar Babu. The government stated that the platform has been designed to be user-friendly, even for citizens with limited digital awareness.
In addition, services related to 31 temples have been integrated into WhatsApp MeeSeva. Devotees can book darshan, accommodation, and other services directly through WhatsApp. The government is also planning to link emergency services such as 108, 101, and 102 to the same number in the coming days.
Across the state, more than 5,000 MeeSeva centers currently serve between 80,000 and 1 lakh people daily. From November 1, 2023, to January 31, 2026, a total of 5.98 crore transactions were recorded, amounting to a value of ₹3,811 crore, the Telangana government said.
