Former TTD Chairman and YSRCP MP YV Subba Reddy dismissed allegations related to Srivari temple management, laddu preparation, and ghee procurement. Speaking in Delhi, he said he always worked to protect and enhance the sanctity of the temple and never committed any wrong doing.
He stated that reports of adulterated ghee being used in laddu preparation were baseless. Every ghee tanker was inspected before use, he said, adding that unclear lab reports were being misrepresented in the media. He questioned why the investigation focused only on ghee procurement between 2014 and 2019, and noted that he had given the same clarifications to the SIT earlier. He also said he was ready to undergo a polygraph test if required.
Responding to allegations that low-cost ghee indicated adulteration, he clarified that cost efficiency did not imply wrong doing. He reminded that a white paper on TTD assets had already been released. Subba Reddy highlighted reforms implemented during his tenure, including cancellation of L1 and L2 darshans, introduction of the Srivani darshan, complete plastic ban in Tirumala, financial assistance to 516 goshalas, and establishment of Padmavati Heart Centre. He also said the construction cost of the Srinivasa Setu was reduced by 50 to 70 crore rupees.
Regarding the Parakamani theft case, he confirmed he would appear for CID questioning on Friday. He clarified that his former PA Appanna had no involvement in TTD matters.
