In the Formula E car race case, ACB officials are preparing to file a charge sheet in court this week. BRS Working President and former minister K. T. Rama Rao has been named as Accused No.1 in the case. Officials said the investigation is almost complete and all required documents and evidence have been collected. After receiving approval from the concerned department to prosecute IAS officer Arvind Kumar, who is listed as Accused No.2, the process has moved forward.
According to the ACB, the Formula E race caused a loss of ₹75.88 crore to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority. The charge sheet is also expected to mention that race responsibilities were given to ACE NextGen and in return, ₹45 crore in electoral bonds were received by the BRS party. The Enforcement Directorate has also registered a separate case and questioned the accused. Allegations of misuse of funds, cheating and criminal conspiracy are likely to be included in the charge sheet.
