Former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visit to Visakhapatnam on Tuesday led to significant inconvenience for residents due to overenthusiastic party supporters. Large numbers of YSRCP workers gathered at the airport during his arrival and departure, creating chaos. As Jagan’s convoy moved from the airport to Jabbar Thota, shops along the route were shut for nearly two hours, and traffic came to a standstill, leaving commuters stranded at major junctions. Posters and slogans such as “Maa Vigan, Guns Don’t Need Agreement” and “Loading 2029 Jagan 2.0” were displayed throughout the route.
AI-generated flex banners depicting Jagan consoling distressed fishermen were put up even before his visit to affected families. During his media interaction, party workers raised slogans like “Puli Vachindi, Meka Chachindi,” “Pulivendula Puli,” and “CM, CM.” Tensions escalated at the airport when authorities stopped vehicles belonging to former minister Amarnath and YSRCP district president KK Raju, leading to arguments between party workers and police. Security grills were damaged in the commotion. Meanwhile, police also restrained supporters of Legislative Council Opposition Leader Botsa Satyanarayana, who engaged in a heated exchange with them.
