Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed strong displeasure over the controversy involving Putha Mahesh Yadav, stating that it is unfortunate for the party to be forced into a position where it must answer for an individual’s mistakes. Addressing a meeting with Tirupati district MLAs on Tuesday, the Chief Minister reacted sharply to the alleged drug-related issue, questioning why the party should bear the burden of leaders who indulge in misconduct and harmful habits.
He emphasized that Mahesh Yadav was given an opportunity in the 2024 elections with the intention of encouraging youth participation in politics. “Being an MP, attending such parties itself is a mistake. Some individuals are misusing the opportunities given to them. When those from respectable political backgrounds act irresponsibly, it raises serious concerns,” Naidu remarked. He recalled that strict action had been taken against leaders who violated discipline in the past and made it clear that all members of the Telugu Desam Party must adhere to strict discipline, with no exceptions.
