TDP president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed party MPs, ministers, MLAs and senior leaders to work collectively for the victory of alliance candidates in the upcoming local body elections. During a teleconference, he asked leaders to persuade rebel candidates to withdraw their nominations and ensure that official party nominees receive their B-forms promptly. He warned that disciplinary action would be taken against those who defy party directives and stressed the need for coordination among all three alliance partners while implementing seat-sharing arrangements.
Chandrababu called for the selection of capable candidates for corporations, municipalities, ZPTCs, MPTCs and gram panchayat posts. He urged leaders to conduct door-to-door campaigns and explain the government’s development and welfare initiatives to voters. He set a target of improving on the 57 per cent strike rate achieved in the general elections. He also said that allocating 11 corporations to 11 social communities was intended to promote wider political representation. Party workers who miss out on seats due to alliance arrangements or other considerations would be considered for nominated posts, he added.
