Despite these releases, Telangana still has nearly ₹3,000 crore pending under the 15th Finance Commission grants. The State Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department completed the Gram Panchayat elections and submitted the required information sought by the Centre, following which funds are being released in phases.
Around ₹2,400 crore is yet to be released, and the state has urged the Centre to expedite the disbursal of the remaining amount. Minister Seethakka has appealed to the Union Government to immediately release the pending funds to accelerate rural development across villages.
