BRS to Hold Week-Long Protests Over Congress Promises

BRS leader and former minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy announced that the party will organise statewide protests from September 2 to 8 against what it described as the Congress government's 1,000 days of failed governance. He said the party would unveil a logo for the campaign and release a chargesheet against the government on September 1. The protests will focus on alleged failures in implementing the six guarantees, agricultural issues, farmers' land and insurance concerns, promises to women, pensions, jobs, fee reimbursement and other welfare commitments.

The BRS has planned different forms of protests throughout the week, including constituency-level dharnas, farmers' meetings, rallies and demonstrations. The party will also hold cooking protests over women's welfare issues, special protests in the Singareni coal belt over employment concerns, and auto rallies highlighting drinking water, streetlights, law and order, traffic and basti clinic issues. On September 7, the party plans to submit collective representations at Prajavani centres over the implementation of 420 promises, followed by press conferences and submissions of memorandums at Ambedkar statues in district headquarters on September 8.
