Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka strongly criticized the BRS government, alleging that it pushed the state into massive debt. Speaking at the inauguration of four power substations in Julakal and the foundation laying for a 220 kV substation in Erravalli, located in Waddepalli mandal of Jogulamba Gadwal district, he said the previous government burdened people with debts amounting to ₹8.21 lakh crore. He added that ₹2 lakh crore has already been repaid and termed the opposition’s claims of returning to power as shameful.
He further alleged that the Thummilla lift irrigation scheme has failed to benefit farmers, calling it a rare example of an irrigation project without a reservoir. He assured that the Mallammakunta reservoir would be completed soon to address water storage issues. Bhatti also stated that 12 power substations are being inaugurated every month across the state to ensure quality electricity supply. He highlighted that the credit for introducing ambulance services in the power department goes to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s government.
