BRS Opposes Privatisation of Power Sector - Jagadish Reddy

Former minister and BRS leader Jagadish Reddy said his party was opposed to the Congress government’s alleged move to privatise the power sector. He criticised the state government over what he described as failures in the supply of irrigation water, drinking water and electricity. Speaking at a press conference at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad on Saturday, Jagadish Reddy alleged that the government was taking steps towards privatising the power sector.

Jagadish Reddy alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was attempting to hand over Transco to private interests at a low price. He claimed that privatisation of the power sector in Odisha, Delhi and Mumbai had not produced the desired results. He also said former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had opposed the privatisation of the RTC and power utilities. Jagadish Reddy said the BRS would continue its political fight against what it termed anti-people decisions of the Congress government.
