Blackmail Politics Have No Place in Congress

Congress leaders have strongly reacted to the alleged objectionable remarks made by Konda Susmitha against Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. State Mahila Congress president Errabelli Swarna, MLC Baswaraju Saraiah, MLA KR Nagaraju and others condemned the remarks at a media interaction. Swarna said it was inappropriate to make such comments against the Chief Minister, who had given Konda Surekha a ministerial position, and urged the party high command to take disciplinary action against her.

Several women leaders said there was no place for “blackmail politics” in the Congress party. They questioned Susmitha’s involvement in party activities while criticising the party and the Chief Minister’s leadership. MLC Baswaraju Saraiah said an MLA ticket cannot be treated as something that can simply be demanded, while MLA KR Nagaraju called for action against Congress leaders who were present when Susmitha made the remarks.
