Telangana BJP President Ramchander Rao criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's letter seeking approval and funds for the second phase of the Hyderabad Metro Rail project from Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy. Addressing a press conference at the BJP state office, Ramchander Rao termed the letter a “political gimmick” and alleged that the state government had failed to submit the required reports and financial feasibility certificates to the Centre. He stated that the delay in obtaining approvals was due to the state's inability to provide complete project details.
The BJP leader asserted that the Centre had previously approved the Metro Rail Phase-II proposal based on reports submitted during the previous BRS government. He accused the Congress government of attempting to shift blame to the Centre instead of fulfilling its responsibilities. Ramchander Rao reiterated that the BJP remains committed to Hyderabad’s development and promised that metro connectivity would be expanded to all parts of the city, including the Old City. He also alleged that the state government was focusing on projects for commissions and scams rather than public welfare.
