The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly reacted to the decisions being taken by the Andhra Pradesh government led by N. Chandrababu Naidu. The party criticized the move of handing over around 1.5 lakh acres of land to private individuals under the pretext that these lands have been merged with private survey numbers. It alleged that, in the name of regularization, the government is effectively allocating land to encroachers.
The BJP emphasized that a comprehensive survey must be conducted, and if the lands are found to belong to temples, they should be returned to them. The party also opposed the decision to lease valuable urban lands on a long-term basis, stating that diverting and misusing temple lands is unacceptable.
According to the BJP, such policies pose a serious threat to the protection of Hindu temples and are causing significant harm to the Hindu community. It further stated that the situation has forced members of the Hindu community to approach courts and seek legal stays. The party has demanded that the government immediately halt these decisions.
