BJP MP Janardan Mishra made controversial remarks while responding to those opposing the blending of 20% ethanol with petrol. Questioning the demand for pure petrol, Mishra reportedly asked, “Does pure petrol come from your father’s house?” His remarks have sparked a debate over the government’s ethanol-blending policy.
Mishra said ethanol blending is necessary as India continues to depend heavily on crude oil imports. He argued that increasing ethanol blending can help reduce the country’s dependence on imported crude and strengthen energy security. His comments, however, have drawn attention and triggered discussions over the impact and necessity of ethanol blending.
