In Bihar, a new government was formed under the National Democratic Alliance after the resignation of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Samrat Choudhary took oath as the Chief Minister, while Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Vijendra Prasad Yadav assumed office as Deputy Chief Ministers.
The cabinet expansion has now been scheduled for this Thursday. The swearing in ceremony will be held at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, where preparations are underway. As the NDA is a coalition government, discussions are ongoing regarding the allocation of ministerial portfolios among alliance partners.
According to reports, the BJP is likely to get 12 ministerial posts, JD(U) 11, LJP 2, and HAM and RLM one each. Some positions will be filled in a later expansion. The leadership recently discussed the cabinet formation with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi before finalizing the plan.
