Union Minister Bhupati Raju Srinivasa Varma stated that West Bengal lacked development and alleged that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had been winning elections with the support of infiltrator votes from Bangladesh. Speaking to the media at the BJP state office in Vijayawada, he claimed that Mamata’s alleged misrule and anti-national activities led to her defeat. He expressed happiness over the BJP’s victory in the birthplace of Syama Prasad Mukherjee and highlighted that the party secured clear majorities in Assam and Puducherry, while voter turnout improved in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
State Minister Satyakumar Yadav also welcomed the results, stating that people have ended what he called “lawless governance” in West Bengal. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is being consistently supported by the public due to development, infrastructure growth, and wealth creation. Following the BJP’s success, celebrations erupted at the party’s state office, where leaders and workers gathered, watched election results on television, and later celebrated enthusiastically outside the office.
