Telangana Revenue, Housing and Information Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy has directed officials to complete the restoration and development works at the historic Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple in Bhadrachalam before the commencement of the next Godavari Pushkaralu. During his visit to the temple, the Minister instructed authorities to ensure that the shrine is fully prepared at least 15 days before the festival. He reviewed the ongoing works with officials and stated that the government has sanctioned ₹351 crore for the temple's restoration, while ₹75 crore has already been spent on land acquisition for expansion.
The Minister stressed that all restoration works should strictly follow Agama Shastra guidelines without affecting the temple's heritage. He instructed officials to deploy 25 percent additional workers wherever necessary, appoint a special engineering officer to monitor the project and conduct field-level reviews every 10 days. He also directed authorities to provide uninterrupted facilities such as drinking water, sanitation, queue management and security for devotees during the construction period. New bathing ghats and expanded pilgrim amenities will also be developed ahead of the Godavari Pushkaralu.
