Appalaraju, Tammineni Cases: Opposition Questions Police Inaction

Questions are being raised over the delay in the arrest of former Andhra Pradesh minister Seediri Appalaraju and former Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram, who have been named as accused in separate criminal cases. In the road accident case involving the death of a shepherd in Kasibugga, police alleged that Appalaraju conspired to shield his son, Arav Varma, by attempting to implicate another individual. He has been named as Accused No. 3 in the case and has filed an anticipatory bail petition before the court. The matter has been adjourned for further hearing.

In a separate alleged land fraud case involving property reportedly worth ₹4 crore, police have named Tammineni Sitaram, his wife and his son as accused after collecting evidence during the investigation. Reports suggest that the family is currently not available for questioning following the registration of the case, drawing criticism over the delay in their arrest. Meanwhile, a sub-registrar named in the case appeared before investigators, and district authorities have ordered a departmental inquiry. The investigations in both cases are continuing.
