

Authorities have declared a heightened state of alert after a devastating car explosion near Delhi's famous Red Fort sent shockwaves across the country. Around 7 p.m., the incident happened. A Hyundai i20 car unexpectedly exploded close to the Subhash Marg traffic signal, hurting multiple pedestrians and causing damage to surrounding cars. Officials have not yet confirmed the precise number of fatalities, but preliminary reports indicate that a few people may have died.
Shortly after the event, Union Home Minister Amit Shah released a formal statement detailing the prompt action taken by security forces. Experts from the National Security Guard (NSG), National Investigation Agency (NIA), and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) conducted a thorough investigation ,after teams from the Delhi Crime Branch and Special Branch arrived at the scene within minutes of the explosion. Shah affirmed that he has personally spoken with senior Delhi Police officials in charge of the investigation and that all local CCTV footage is being reviewed.
Amit Shah added that while all possibilities are still being looked into, there is currently no evidence connecting the explosion to terrorism. He assured the public that every angle will be thoroughly examined and that the government is taking the situation very seriously. Authorities are anticipated to provide more specific information about the cause of the explosion and potential perpetrators as the investigation progresses.
