YSR Congress Party leader Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy launched a sharp attack on the Amaravati capital project, alleging that the land is unsuitable for the state's capital and that the government is spending excessively on the project. He claimed that the capital works are being deliberately prolonged and accused the government of using the project as a means for large-scale financial irregularities.
Sajjala alleged that loans worth ₹47,000 crore had been raised in the name of Amaravati and argued that the same funds could have been used for development across the state. He also accused the government of harassing farmers who refused to part with their land and criticised its borrowing and social media strategy. These are political allegations made by the YSRCP leader, and a response from the ruling party is awaited.
