Remarks made by former AIADMK minister RB Udhayakumar about actress Trisha have triggered controversy in Tamil Nadu. Speaking at a meeting in Thoothukudi, Udhayakumar questioned when Trisha would be made Deputy Chief Minister. He also criticised TVK supporters, alleging that they were arguing about their “sister-in-law” Trisha instead of raising the issue of Cauvery water.
Trisha Welfare Association members and her fans strongly condemned Udhayakumar’s remarks. Posters denouncing his comments were put up in Madurai. The protesters objected to the actress being targeted through such remarks in the name of political criticism. The issue has now drawn attention across Tamil Nadu’s political and film circles.
