Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu alleged that the supply of adulterated ghee to TTD during the YSRCP regime was part of a larger, deliberate conspiracy aimed at desecrating Lord Venkateswara. Launching a scathing attack on former Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chandrababu said the act was intentionally executed through the then TTD Executive Officer. He asserted that this was not a case of financial greed or an isolated administrative lapse, but a well-planned plot to tarnish the sanctity and global reputation of Tirumala. He further alleged that the scam occurred with the knowledge of the then TTD Chairman and board members, who deliberately altered tender norms and placed their own men in key procurement committees.
The Chief Minister said the SIT had found that dairies involved in supplying adulterated ghee paid commissions worth ₹4.68 crore to the then Chairman’s PA. He announced that all documents, evidence, and the SIT charge sheet related to the adulterated ghee scam would be placed before the public for scrutiny. Addressing the media after a meeting with NDA alliance leaders at his Undavalli residence, Chandrababu warned that playing with the sentiments of devotees and defiling the sanctity of Lord Venkateswara was an unforgivable sin. He stated that the guilty would be punished and that strict administrative and legal action would be initiated based on the SIT report and the recommendations of a single-member committee to prevent such incidents in the future.
