Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy appeared before the CBI Court after nearly six years for a hearing in the disproportionate assets case. His presence attracted significant attention across political circles, but what stirred controversy was a video of Jagan inside the Nampally CBI Court that went viral on social media. The footage showed Jagan responding to questions posed by the judge during the hearing.
The circulation of this video has raised serious legal concerns, as recording or publishing visuals from inside a courtroom without prior approval is strictly prohibited. The unauthorized release of court proceedings is considered a violation of judicial regulations, prompting backlash from legal experts as well as members of the YSR Congress Party.
YCP leader Ponnavolu Sudhakar, who previously served as Additional Advocate General in Jagan’s government, stated that the party would initiate strict legal action against all individuals responsible for capturing and sharing the video. He emphasized that publishing such courtroom content breaches legal jurisdiction and warrants immediate punitive measures. The party has insisted on strong action against those involved in the leak.
